Los Angeles Sparks Waive Guard Chennedy Carter
Former First-Round Pick Departs After One Season

The Los Angeles Sparks announced today that they have waived guard Chennedy Carter, who was acquired from the Atlanta Dream in a trade prior to the 2022 season. The move comes as the Sparks look to revamp their roster under new head coach Curt Miller.
In 24 games with the Sparks, Carter averaged 6.6 points and 2.6 assists per game. She missed the majority of the 2022 season due to injury. Carter was the fourth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings, where she averaged 11.4 points per game over three seasons.
The Sparks finished the 2022 season with a 13-19 record, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Miller was hired as head coach in January and has made several roster changes, including the addition of former league MVP Candace Parker.
